about
Hi there. I am a visual artist, born and raised in 1987 in Berlin, Germany. Growing up in a family of designers, I was always surrounded by art. This artistic atmosphere allowed me already as a child to discover many possible avenues in which I could explore my own creativity. Having spent three decades dancing, painting, and writing, today I create works of art as a means to express my profoundest thoughts and feelings. But also to tell my very personal story.
I focus on the same topics that drove my studies in human sciences to seep into my creative work. That’s why I am particularly intrigued by the ways in which the mind can create its own worlds based on individual or common memories and perceptions of reality. By piecing together memory and experience, my work expresses all of those impressions through the creative exploration of abstract shapes and forms.

artwork
At the core of my artwork lies a creative process that is driven purely by the interest in form making and visually exploring impressions of our everyday lives. Saturated with bright, contrasting color, and with its playful nature, my paintings aim to create form that tells a story through shapes and composition. A review of emotions resulting from former experiences and daily observations transferred to paper or canvas.
My artwork has been an important part of the exploration of myself. Every brushstroke tells a very personal story about my personality, my culture, my identity. Born into an immigrant family living in Germany, I have experienced the constantly changing and re-negotiated nature of identity from a very young age. My art practice is about exploring these disjointed identities that co-exist in my body and mind. Using a vibrant palette and a variety of techniques and influences is not only a way of freeing myself from the narrow concept of cultural identity. It also reinforces the freedom to exist as I am and to find joy in these sometimes tangled emotions.
